Have Mercy: The Book of Job

How do we respond to a friend or even an enemy who is suffering?

Jesus shows us that the key to showing mercy is loving the Lord with all of our hearts, minds, soul, and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves through the Parable of The Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37.

Mercy is defined, as compassion or forgiveness shown towards someone whom it is within our power to punish or harm. It is an act meant to relieve suffering.

Grace is unmerited favor, something not deserved, but freely given.

"Mercy is an act of grace that relieves the suffering of others." <3 Katie

When we love God we obey His commands. When we spend time reading God’s word, we learn His heart, His will, His commands. He shows us how to love others.
God gives us the Holy Spirit to help and give us the wisdom to respond to suffering.
Finally, have mercy! Remember the Golden Rule: "Treat others the way you want to be treated."

We all want mercy.
We all want someone to bind up our wounds.

We have received God's mercy, so let's freely give it.

Psalm 147:3 "He binds up the wounds of the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

"Go and do the same." Luke 10:37
